      mail logs ...

      status=sent (delivered to maildir)

      these are permissions for mail spool:

      ls -la /var/mail/
      total 12K
      drwxrwsrwx 2 root mail 4.0K Jul 27 22:41 .
      drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4.0K Jul 13 01:36 ..
      - -rw------- 1 admin mail 0 Jul 27 14:53 admin
      - -rw------- 1 root mail 3.7K Jul 27 22:41 root

      and

      home_mailbox = Maildir/
      mailbox_command =

      ... but connecting to both POP and IMAP by thunderbird don't find any
      delivered mail.

        These are inconsistent. Read up what home_mailbox means.

        You will have to configure and check consistent locations. /var/mail/
        is not a maildir, and you haven't shown where Dovecot looks - either
        tell Postfix to deliver there, or tell Dovecot (off-topic here) to look
        for where Postfix delivers.

          This is totally useless. You don't even show the NAME OF THE PROGRAM
          that delivers mail.

            Not sure if this helps, this may be specific to my set up, but in the
            /etc/dovecot directory I have a file named "users" which lists every
            email address and their file locations. If not, there must be a config
            file somewhere so I'd look around.

              I give you a complete log output

              I thought mail spool dir /var/mail pemissions where somehow related to
              Maildir delivery.
              And they are different things.
              What infos do you need to help me get over this issue?

                As documented, home_mailbox is a feature of the local(8) delivery
                agent that delivers mail under the user's home directory.
