      Hi All,

Anyone who has ever played with a homemade paddle wheeler powered by rubber bands will probably remember that it didn't go very far and looked more a water beetle than a model of the Robert E. Lee. The sketch I just added to files shows how this problem might be addressed by using a reversible pop-pop engine to drive a pair of mechanically coupled turbines that could drive to one or more paddle wheels and also provide some additional propulsion that might make a small pop-pop powered model of a paddle wheeler look a little more like a paddle steamer, and a little less like an unfortunate bug that has fallen into the toilet.

      Best wishes, old Frank
