[Actually, Bush is "envisioning" nothing -- he doesn't conceptualize, think or plan. What is happening is that the neocons are attempting to lure him into bogging down American troops in the Mideast forever on behalf of Israel. That's the beginning and the end of it. What is most likely to happen as the result of these insane policies is that all American troops will be booted out of the Mideast forever, within a few years or less. Bush can't see it coming because he does not know how to "envision." Regimes which haven't been as annoying (and downright genocidal) to natives in the regime as Bush 43 will probably end up with preferred access to Mideast oil. Be sure to thank the neocons for this outcome.]

Bush Envisions US Presence in Iraq for 50 Years

      via t r u t h o u t on May 31, 2007

Bush would like to see a lengthy US troop presence in Iraq like the one in South Korea. The United States has had thousands of US troops in South Korea to guard against a North Korean invasion for 50 years. Iraq's neighbors have raised concerns about the possibility of the United States maintaining permanent bases in Iraq, and some US lawmakers think the Iraqi insurgency may have been fueled by perceptions that the United States wants a permanent presence in the country.
