John J. McNulty Jr. will be buried at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands next to his wife, Madelon, who pre-deceased him.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He wore many hats in government including serving on the state Commission of Corrections 1985-1989. He served on the Green Island Power Authority and held many positions in the Democratic Party.
For decades, he helped run a food pantry for the needy.
A Roman Catholic, McNulty was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Green Island and was a member of its Holy Name Society, the St. Vincent dePaul Society, Perpetual Adoration Society of St. Augustine's Church in Troy, the Capital District First Friday Club and the Association of Jeanne Jugan.
Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church after twp evenings of calling hours at the McNulty Funeral Home in Green Island.
