Former PA state rep. Druce lost his appeal yesterday (April 29, 2004) of
his prison sentence for a hit and run. In 1999 he struck and killed
Kenneth Cains while driving down a street in Harrisburg near the state
capitol. He was indicted on two counts, vehicular homicide and insurance
fraud, and was sentenced in October 2000 to a prison term of 2 to 4
years. He served 4 terms in the state house and was a rising star of the
PA Republican party before resigning in 2000. While out on bond he lived
at his home in Chalfont, PA and did consulting work. This makes him the
first PA state representative to be charged with homicide in the 210
year history of the PA General Assembly.
