      2011 Topic: Discussing Death and Dying

      Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
      Elizabeth B. Alton Auditorium
      Pomona, NJ

      Participants will use the lens of the arts and humanities to discuss death and dying and how to talk about end-of-life issues. Breakout sessions will include reading, discussing and writing poetry and short prose pieces.

      Keynote speaker, Patrick L. Clary, MD, author of a book of poems, Dying for Beginners, is a leading physician in end of life care. Breakout leaders include poets & writers, Barbara Daniels, Douglas Goetsch, Penny Harter, Terese Svoboda & others. Peter E. Murphy will facilitate.

      $30 registration fee covers continental breakfast, lunch and materials.
      Continuing Ed credits available for Nurses, Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage Family Therapy, Public Health, EMTs & Paramedics.

          - Keynote speaker, R. Ellen Perlman, MD, specializes in narrative medicine and teaching communication skills and humanism to clinicians.
          - Breakout leaders include poets and writers, Hubert Babinski, Barbara Daniels, Luray Gross, Lois Harrod, Ken Hart, Penny Harter, and Wynne Morrison.
          - Target audience: Medical Professionals, Family Caregivers, Poets, Writers, and Community Members
          - $40 registration fee covers continental breakfast, lunch, materials and CME or Continuing Education Credits in the following fields: Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage Family Therapy, Public Health, EMTs & Paramedics.
