      NICHOLAS DELBANCO is the author of some twenty books of
      fiction and non-fiction, most recently the novel, WHAT REMAINS
      and the prize-winning book-length essay, THE COUNTESS OF
      STANLEIN RESTORED: A History of the Countess of Stanlein Ex
      Paganini Stradivarius Cello of 1707. He has received awards
      from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for
      the Arts, and in 2002, the Michigan Author of the Year Award. Mr.
      Delbanco was the cofounder (with the late John Gardner) of the
      Bennington Writing Workshops and is currently the Director of
      the Program in Creative Writing at the University of Michigan
      where he also serves as the Robert Frost Collegiate Professor
      of English Language and Literature. He will be reading from a
      novel in progress called, THE VAGABONDS.
