                                              Summer of Seventy-One

      It was an awful year

      A man so selfish

      A mom busy working

      A daughter growing up nicely

      Three years after foster home

      A man so selfish

A girl so young, so keen

      Can't she wait until marriage

      Why now, she's not ready

      Oh well, it's over

      And what a heartache

      Thirty-five years later.
