      The prompt, from Robert Lee Brewer's Poetic-Asides blog (www.writersdigest.com/editors-blogs/poetic-asides), was to write an elsewhere poem.
      Herewith, and without further a- or ta-do...

      A POEM FOR THAWSDAY
      —————————————–
      When it’s ten degrees below freezin’,
      And the temperature’s still goin’ down,
      And I have to go and thaw out my truck,
      Before headin’ my way into town;
      When the frost is on the pumpkin,
      And the pumpkin’s on the table;
      Then I’m headin’ south to the warmth of the beach,
      Just as soon as I am able.
