The new TV show that in the States just finished it's first season seems to me to be almost too creative for television.Whereas the standard cop show has studio settings, hired people to walk hither and yon to look busy and "let's walk the corridors and talk " dialogue,(a CSI standard) WHITE COLLAR goes outdoors and mixes it with the masses in noisy New York.

Not even Kelly and Sinatra could do that without over dubbing in "On The Town".

Even a car ride is shot from three different angles from OUTSIDE the car and along some New York avenue while the main guys are prattling away in the front seat. This all can't be shot at 5am on a Summer's Sunday morning, before the decibels climb.

While the star of the show is the city of New York -- it's worth watching episodes so that you can marvel at the skill the sound bods have employed to capture talk in the busiest of precincts -- even outside Grand Central Station

How do they do it? Even the at home and office visits are in real premises and the sound is always audio perfect.

Behind all this must be an audio genius or a few items of technology that must be new generation mics - esp if you consider that this aint a expensive movie shoot.

      Check it out.
