- I went also to another site and got the Vulcan and the Klingon to
english dictionaries <G> So Paul is not the total geek :-)
I'm hoping the birthday 'podcast' comes off really well.... I'll
attempt a few things and will post it when done for those who want to
On the memorial day podcast and comments that ensued:
If the guy made a tribute podcast and kept it to himself, I agree
with Matthew in that it is like playing alone.
The borderline 'hostility' from others is surprising. Such a
progressive and otherwise cool list that would get uptight is to say
the least; 'Highly Illogical'. No one has forbidden these other
nationalists to make a podcast about their land, in fact, I would
LOVE to hear of customs, some language samples and local
colloquialisms from their part of the world!
Anyone can look in an encyclopedia and get the area, population and
economics of a nation.... IOW, clinical stats, IF it is up to date...
but to HEAR the common phrases of their language, their views of the
elderly, kids, health care, history, etc, is something that would be
VERY interesting to me.
When I get government papers and such to do with SSA or whatever, I
get not only English, but also in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and
Korean. That huge booklet I receive has only 4-5 pages of my language
in it. We did just have Cinco de Mayo and we have other holidays
celebrated here by the respective cultures with nary a peep from our
mainstream society. Why is it not OK for us to observe our holidays
'over there'? It confuses me, this.
Just as this Dan fellow did a podcast about his country, why not go
ahead a do one for your land as well?
