      Hello Pacific Northwest FIRST teams,

Just wanted to send a reminder about the NASA grants.  Any team who has not received two years of NASA sponsorship has a VERY GOOD opportunity to be awarded one of the $6,000 NASA Grants for the 2002 Pacific Northwest Regional.  However, the DEADLINE to turn in the applications is THIS FRIDAY, Nov 9th.  With the new date of the Seattle Regional being March 28-30, some of the teams previously applying for the grants from other states will not be able - so the odds of getting a grant have gone up dramatically for Washington and Alaska schools.  Please be sure to complete and submit the application by the deadline.
For those of you with other schools in your districts looking to start a team, or with schools you have been recruiting to possibly mentor this year, please forward this information on to them so they don't miss the deadline.
The application can be found at http://robots.larc.nasa.gov/application/
If you have any questions regarding the NASA grant, you can contact Flora Boyer at the NASA Ames Research Center (650) 604-0992
