Space Elevator Youth Robotics Competition Workshop
Woodinville Library Meeting Room
1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
JOIN US at the Woodinville Library on Sunday July 28 from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm to work on and test your robots for the ISEC Space Elevator Youth Robotics Competition, which will take place on Saturday, August 24 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Work on your robot, see samples of the satellites, ask questions about the rules, meet other teams or even just stop by to learn what the competition is all about. Bring your robot, parts, tools, laptops, etc. David Schilling, the competition designer and Tech Lead will be on hand to provide support and answer questions. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
The Space Elevator Youth Robotics Competition is a challenge for middle and high school students to design, build and program an autonomous, tether-climbing robot. The robot must defy gravity and climb a 22’ tether to the top while carrying a payload. Prizes will be awarded for top-scoring robots and for robot design. It’s a great summer project that’s both challenging and fun. Held at the Family Science Fest www.isec.org/sec/index.php/family-science-fest during the ISEC Space Elevator Conference, the competition will take place Saturday, August 24 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. The competition is free to registered teams and admission to the Museum of Flight is also free.
The rules for the Space Elevator Competition, including the dates and how to register, can be found at:
Please RSVP to Carolyn at cmdavids@... so we can have enough refreshments on hand. I hope to see you there!
