      I take this opportunity to congratulate you all on a really positive step by the Planning Commission, Govt. of Pakistan (the apex planning body of the nation).
      Planning Commission has agreed to include the Library development proposals in the "Pakistan Vision 2030". The aim of  Vision 2030 is to transform Pakistan in to a knowledge-based economy. Through this Vision Pakistani Library will be able to have proper funding and its due role in building knowledge economy.
       
      I would like to thank and congratulate Mr. Anwar Ejaz (Librarian Hamdard University Islamabad) and Rana Muhammad Iqbal (Library Specialist, Planning Commission Islamabad) for submitting the library development proposals to the Planning Commission.
       
      We are thankful to Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Dr. Engr. M. Akram Sheikh for his support for the library and knowledge-culture development.
       
      Please find attached the copy of Planning Commission's letter on the subject

        This is undoubtedly a remarkable achievement for the profession and by the professionals. I congratulate all the professional fellows and PLA federal branch for this achievement. It was basically the responsibility of the PLA headquarters, but, they were not, perhaps, even aware of what was going on around us.

                  Please accept my heartiest congratulations on this achievement, especially Anwar Ejaz Sb and Rana Iqbal Sb deserve a big hand for this marvelous job.  Anwar Ejaz Sb and Rana Iqbal Sb may Allah give you "استقامت" in this regard. 
                  In my point of view, year 2007 is very lucky for Pakistani Librarianship.  PLA is going to revive again after a long long time and we are looking dust removing from the face of Pakistani Librarianship.

After a long time we have heard such a good news for the overall development of Library Profession. I have no hesitation to declare this News the Best News of 2007 so far along with the PLA Elections.
