      Institute of Research Promotion, Lahore-Pakistan is offering a 2-day training workshops on Literature Review Made Easy-Using Endnote and NVivo Software for Excellent Review. The workshop will train you on how to manage your entire literature review with the help of software from browsing to citation, reviewing and developing concepts. Participants will learn how to combine potentials of software i.e. EndNote and NVivo for very rich literature review. The workshop is being organized on-site as well as on-line.

      RESOURCE PERSONS:

      • Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood is a professor of library and information science at the University of the Punjab. He has recently completed his post doctorate from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. He is a prolific writer and published seven books and 115 research articles in national and international journals. He is the chief editor of an HEC recognized journal and editorial adviser and reviewer of many international journals. He has supervised academic research of many students at PhD, MPhil and Masters Levels. He has a vast experience of training faculty and students in various areas of research methods.
      • Mr. Rahmat Ullah is a research scholar in management sciences with specialized focus on innovation and technology development. He has association with research works for last 20 years, as he started his career with dedicated research in Islamic studies. Then Mr. Now a days he is associated with IRP as Chief Coordinator to promote R&D culture in Pakistan. He has diversified experience of providing trainings, managing survey projects, developing online portals, initiating academic publishing and executing funded projects of development nature.  He has the credit of introducing numbers of research software in Pakistan, developing above 30 training modules of research methods and training research scholars in Pakistan and abroad.

      EndNote: Hands-on-Practice:

      • Browsing and searching through EndNote software
      • Using EndNote as literature database
      • Using EndNote for citation and referencing while writing
      • Managing your references library

      Day Two

      Lecture:

      • The writing skills for literature review
      • The scheme of concepts development
      • Dealing with theories and ideas
      • Linking literature review with research objectives
      • Format and presentation of literature review

      NVivo Hands-on-Practice:

      • Managing literature resources in NVivo Software
      • Reading and writing literature in NVivo environment
      • Building concepts through NVivo
      • Presenting linkages and relationships in concepts through NVivo

      • Pre-Requisites:  Some research experience,  good usage of MS Office, internet browsing and familiarity with digital databases 
      • Method: The module is 50% expert lecture and 50% through hands on practice
      • Resources: Participants are supposed to install trial versions of NVivo 10 and Endnote in their PCs before the workshop. Software download link will be provided after having confirmation

      The similar practice will be for institutions if they want to organize the same workshop in their conference hall, seminar room, computer lab, or in a class room; this virtual training session is just away from an internet connection, multimedia projector and a PC.
