My Dear friends, colleagues and students, AOA [and Excuse me for cross posting]

Thank God I am successfully done with my Fulbright Post-Doctoral Visiting Scholar program at the SISLT, University of Missouri. My main topic of exploration was Methods of Web Usability Evaluation in a Library Context.  I remained engaged in a research project on the same area, auditing courses on Usability Evaluation  and Digital libraries, writing papers, delivering lectures, attending Fulbright conferences and some tourismt activities. Following is an overview of my outcomes during the stay.
      1. Gave three Guest lectures to online classes at my Uuniversity.
      2. One face to face lecture at the North Carolina Central University was delivered on their invitation as hosting, for which Fulbright special travelling grant for visiting lecture was provided.
      3. Wrote 2 papers for journals
      4. 1 as a book chapter in an international, IFLA sponsored publication.
      5. Attended PhD dissertation defence, PhD proposal presentations to learn more about their system.
      6. Got selected for attending 2 Fulbright conferences in Houston and Washington
      7. Meetings with the University Library Director, Vice Provost, School Director, different faculty members and PhD students
      8. Attended some workshops and lectures on campus
      9. One month of Travelling across USA from west to the east at the end of the program. Visited more than a dozen major cities.
Nevertheless, I missed everything i.e., home, Dept, family, friends, colleagues, students, surroundings and people. The most pathetic was not being with my mother when she was having her knee replacement, and not being with my son whe he needed me in the hospital  when my daughter in law was in a complicated situation for 2 days; thank God they got blessed with a cute son but it was really hard for me to stay away. I am just sharing this personal side for my younger colleagues and students that success demands some kind of sacrifice.  Living alone in minus 20s temprature, surrounded in snow for 4 long months before spring is not a joy at all. Only strong committment with yourself, the professional life and the country makes it possible to survive.

Oh, yes the Admission for MPhil/PhD program has been announced and forms are being distributed. Rules are othere on the University's Website, in case of any further query you can talk/write/see Ms. Nosheen Fatima, Lecturer, in the Dept of LIS/at dept's phone.

This time it's taking me long to get out of the jetlag, perhaps due to my throat infection that has stayed long. Still my sleep times and body clocks are not working properly. In a week time I hope to be in regular routine and accessable. Want to spend some time with my family and home, but i do check my mail regularly.

I think I wrote pretty long, sorry. But you could stop at any line:)
Thank you all for your good wishes and support

            Welcome Back, Ma'am!
Its my immense pleasure and pride to say a 'welcome' to Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen. I'm proud that LIS community of Pakistan is honoured, at last, with the presence of highly profile and nationally and internationally well recognise honorable Dr. Kanwal Ameen Sahiba. I have no doubt that the contemporary and future scenario of Pakistani LIS will be greately impacted by her leadership, vision, and initiatives. Although she has already made overwhelming impacts on LIS yet I can comprehend the profond impacts that she will make happen on landscape of Librarianship, Inshallah.
May Allah be with you Ma'am.

Subject: [plagpk] Greetings and Sharing Update from Home

Nevertheless,  I missed everything i.e., home, Dept, family, friends, colleagues, students, surroundin gs and people.
