Re: [pittscomicon] In Loving Memory of Ernie Chan
- Crap. First Tony DeZuniga, now Ernie Chan. Man, it has been a tough month for Comics. We really are losing some the class acts in this industry.

Subject: [pittscomicon] In Loving Memory of Ernie Chan
I hate making these announcements and this one strikes me particularly hard. Various comic book news sites are reporting the passing of Ernie Chan. It was such a personal thrill for me to meet Ernie for the first time at the Pittsburgh Comicon three years ago. Ernie was the artist of my very first comic book (Batman 279) A signed copy of this comic is the highlight of my comic collection. Ern...ie was such a great guest and he was so excited to return to Pittsburgh the following year. The fans in Pittsburgh made such an impression on him. We are saddened by the news of the loss of another comics legend and our thoughts and prayers are with Ernie's family. My advise to any and all comic fans, NEVER pass on the opportunity to meet a creator that has meant something to you and let them know how their work has effected you. I know I will never forget the time I got to spend with Mr. Chan. He will be sorely missed.
