Boston came out with a quick flurry to start the game, dominating the play and generating a number of shot chances.  Boston had an early 7-1 edge in shots, but the Rangers 1 shot was a GR that Tim Thomas stopped.  Dennis Seidenberg broke through on a split chance to give Boston the 1-0 lead at 8:21 of the 1st period.  NY registered 2 more GR chances that were stopped later in the period, and Boston missed a big split chance of their own.

In the 2nd period the Rangers began to take control of the play.  They piled on the shots (17-4), hit a few more GR's that Thomas stopped, and Brandon Dubinsky rolled an 18 on a 1017 chance that would have tied the game.

In the 3rd period the Rangers again were in control (10-4) but Boston rolled their first GR chance of the game and Brad Marchand made it count at the 4:52 mark for a 2-0 Bruins edge.  Thomas remained perfect and the Bruins escaped with the 2-0 victory.

      Bruins 2, Rangers 0
Bruins win series 4 games to 2.

Congratulations to Tom and the Bruins.  In the end they were just too deep to get past.  GZood luck in the next round.
