      You have at least 2 tables: table articles and table
      pics. If it is to be a one-to-one relationship simply
      make sure there is a field in pics that refers to the
      article unique id.
      When you display the article, lookup the pics table
      and pull the corresponding picture.

      Multiple pics (one-to-many relationship) can be
      handled in a similar way by parsing a string that its
      contents are the article id numbers.

      The above method works well in something that I 've
      done.

      A more modular way could be to use a third table that
      will hold the relationships between pics and articles.
