The Project is West Sussex based and co-ordinates the
Beach Wardens, School Treasure Chest, Vegetated
Shingle Garden scheme and local Beach Watch. The
project offers an advisory and support service to
planners, community projects and beach frontage land
owners. The site has coastal educational resources
      and “News” detailing local events.

The Nature Coast Project aims to educate, raise
awareness, involve the community, provide advice to
landowners and planners and undertake research and
develop best practice on coastal conservation matters.

The project is concerned with all coastal habitats
especially seabed habitats, sand dunes, salt marshes,
estuaries, saline lagoons and vegetated shingle.

Project, Co-ordination of Beach Watch, programme of
talks about coastal and marine life, public events for
World Ocean Day, Low Tide Day, Marine Week etc.,
school work, talks to Parish Councils, Residents
Groups and Societies; and public displays about
      coastal and marine life.

The project is 50% funded by The Heritage Lottery
Fund. Other funding partners are English Nature,
Environment Agency, West Sussex County Council,
Chichester District Council, Arun District Council,
SCOPAC, South Downs Coastal Group and Sussex Wildlife
      Trust.
