Common Reed (Phragmites australis)
- In The Edible Pond and Bog Garden http://www.pfaf.org/user/cmspage.aspx?pageid=79 Reed is cited to dye green. However it's the stalks which are used according to this page. I think it migth be a mistake as all other places - even pfaf's own - say it is the flowers which dye green http://www.pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Phragmites+australis .
- Be very careful with this one. It is VERY aggressive and spreads very quickly by seed and rhizomes. The smallest piece of rhizome produces more plants.
