Shops Stocking Living Soil EM Bokashi :
      Infinity Whole Foods, Brighton.

      Bokashi (Compost Starter)
Bokashi ( fermented organic matter) works as a compost starter, it is made
from a mix of EM, molasses, water and wheat bran.

EM ( EM stands for effective (beneficial, safe, useful) microorganisms,
including lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, fungi and yeasts.
When these organisms are present in the soil, they stimulate productivity
and vitality. They purify the water and air present in the soil and excrete
nutrients and enzymes, including amino-acids and antioxidants. The result :
an excellent environment for plants and animals and the answer to
      sustainable food production.)
can be used as a means of processing organic waste, converting it into a
rich compost to facilitate crop growth.

It contains large populations of EM which are dormant.

When Bokashi is mixed with organic food waste or manure, it activates, and
the beneficial microbes proliferate, fermenting the waste into a nutrient
and antioxidant rich compost that competitively excludes pathogenic bacteria
      and fungi.
