The "hallucinogenic" Ipomoea are almost exclusively in the species Ipomoea tricolor, and only a very small number of Ipomoea tricolor varieties contain Ergine in significant quantities (some experts even question whether Ergine is an hallucinogen).

Purple, pink, red, green and black leaved Ipomoea batata cultivars do not make seeds (sweet potato varieties) although the roots are considered ready for harvesting when the plant is in full flower. The Bamboo leaved varieties of Camote (that produce, and can be grown from, seeds) do not make tuberous roots, they are really a variety of Ipomoea aquatica. Ah, I've just been informed that they are Kancon not Camote ! Not much difference in taste though.
