      Hi.

      This was my input:

Hi. There is suppost to be a presumption against developments on
ancient woodland. In practice any road scheme etc appear to get
planning permission, even if it trashes huge areas of ancient
woodland, sometimes totaly destoying the nature of the wood, and also
resulting in 'roadroar' permiating a previously quite natural noise
only sactuary; Wheras any ideas/projects to do with local occupancy
genuine eco build residential development get ruled out of order by
      presumption. (99.9% of the time).

There also should be an expansion of native woodland into areas
around existing ancient woodland sites, and policy made to make this
happen, especially where there are large ares of ancient semi natural
woodland in existance, such as around Battle in East Sussex. There
should be the creation of new style 'Forests' - new versions of the
old Royal Forests, within which native tree afforestion is
encouraged, and other land uses less so. Farms could keep 20-30 acres
of pasture say. Arable farming within these areas would be
banned. 'Food forestry' such as nut and fruit tree farming would be
encouraged on limited areas. only organic methods would be permitted.
Species rich meadows wouldbe preserved and exanded to some extent.
Core areas of wilderness creation would be made. Outer areas of
managed forest and local occupany eco build residential would be
made. Perhaps road access would be banned except for essential users
and plane overflights be banned. Suitable recreation use would be
encuraged, and sustainable transport links set up. For example the
Gypsum mine at Mountfield could be closed by executive order, and a
sustainable holiday set up made there with train links in from London
etc. A bias towards 'Permaculture' and sharing ethos livlihoods and
lifestyle rather than the 'magic of the market' which has created the
climate change armagedon crisis for a start. Complusary
administration of crystal MDMA for those pyscotics of the Norman
Tebbit mold who refuse to play the 'nice game'.

      Thanks,

      (name and address etc)
