LIbby and I were talking and think it would be great if everyone could bring a journal entry or a piece of reflective writing to share at reconnect --- as also maybe a way to lead in to an online writing group, for, of course, eventual publication and fame. So bring something! Also, is anyone interested in an art exchange? I just got some art from my brother in the states and its decorating my walls. I have some great pictures of pigs that Ill be happy to send out to whoever needs them. You know, a little culture to brighten your day.Im really excited to see all of you at reconnect, Peru 8!Kate
- Hey all, I just remembered Kate was excited about doing projects that involve keeping the house sanitary. I've actually got some materials here at the EPA in DC about keeping your house cucaracha free. One in called !socorro! una cucaracha! and has activities for kids in Spanish. I also have one about implementing integrated pest management in your community (also in Spanish) and another called "Tres Amigos al rescate" that is about how to identify environmnetal hazards in daily life and alleviate them. The most relevant chapters for you guys are about UV exposure (Tumbes folks), contaminated water, and air contamination. There's also ones on household cleaning products, second-hand smoke, pesticies, radon and asbestos. What would be the best way to get these to you guys? Should I send a copy to Kate or to the Peace Corps office in Lima?
Fact of the day: Una cucaracha puede correr a una velocidad de 3 millas por hora.Ick. One of the things I definitely do not miss. ;)-Judith
