  • If anyone wants to see photos of the circuitry inside a Sling Homeplug Ethernet PLC/PLT unit, email me directly. One bright spot I can share is it is marked RoHS and thus may grow those pesky solder whiskers that plague newer equipment. Let's not give up on this battle. 73, Scott NM8R Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note® II, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

  • The topic of PLC QRM is incredibly pertinent in and to this group. SDR's and development of software algorithms may offer one of the ways to combat it. Case in point - Leif SM5BSZ and I have exchanged files of PLC interference from my area, in his attempt to do just this. I would not have known he had an interest or the talent to do so, without this group. Scott NM8R

  • CCleaner is a great product, but I can not see where its use has any effect on the stuttering. Any tips? • I installed an SSD about a year ago. While my laptop boots up much faster with it, my Perseus still develops an occasional stutter. As others have noted, changing the sampling rate clears it - for a while. • about 9 or 10 months ago a couple of guys on this board help me set up VSPE with Bob's S-meter. The procesd wasn't intuitive at all. • I mounted a second LCD monitor on a swing arm anchored on the end of a bookcase, so it resides above the laptop. This monitor is dedicated to Perseus. Frees up space on the laptop monitor as Perseus is on any time I am in the radio shack. (Bet yours is, too.) I tinkered with resolution to find the one that looked the best and all is well. It would be nice to be able to resize it on...

  • Well put, Barry. It is an incredible receiver. I personally really like the appearance of the current interface. My wish list includes possibility of a more effective noise blanker for PLT / data-over-power lines interference suppresion.
