      Hello Gary,

Onderwerp: [perseus_SDR] Guest User Login Duration Time

I now have my Perseus server set to require password. At first I did leave it for open use, to include the timer set for guest users at 30 mins. I have established this receiver for my own use, but I am happy to allow its use for others when I am not using it (I actually have a very specific research purpose for my Perseus at the present time.)

Some time ago I noted that users had logged in as guest and somehow remained logged in for over 6 hours. I confirmed that it was a guest user and that the extended period of use was much more than what I had set the server for, or for up to 30 mins, with a wait time of 2 hours before being allowed once again to use my receiver.

I'm probably sounding like a selfish user, but I was trying to access my receiver from a remote location for a scheduled test, and my Perseus was tied up for hours on end. When I returned, unsuccessful, to the receiver site, I could see that it was being fully occupied by only one person during that time. My question is...how was that done?? Is there a software backdoor in the server of some kind? My passwords are very difficult to guess (nearly impossible) and I've given them to nobody else.

The World has not stopped turning, but I am simply curious how a guest user could do this?

      Gary
