It's late August. The days are still hot. But a cool breeze wafts
over the Perlmongers as they drink the night away. September is on
the event horizon. Which means October is a single-digit number of
weeks off. And October means ...
Perl Seminar NY
The Saga Continues: IX
Which also means that it's the time of year that your Friendly
Moderators start twisting your cybernetic arms to line up
presentations for our 2008-09 season.
Here are our first three sessions:
Tuesday, October 21
Tuesday, November 18
Tuesday, December 16
(Interesting that this year we are meeting in neither Thanksgiving
week nor Xmas week.)
As always, we're looking for 1 or more sessions per meeting. You
don't have to be a world-class Perl hacker to present at Perl Seminar
NY (though we don't discourage that class from presenting!). Hey, we
started off in December 2000 with the first production program
written by yours truly.
And, as always, if you attended one of the summer conferences and
would like to give a little report on one of them at the October
meeting, we would be grateful. (Hint: Go to Flickr. Search for
YAPC or OSCON. Locate photos. Extemporize on the photos. The
pretty pictures wow the crowd every time.) And, by the time of our
October meeting, there will have been at least two other
conferences: Pittsburgh Perl Workshop and NYC BSD Conference, both
on Columbus Day weekend. Attendees thereat should present as well.
Don't be bashful!
