      Mark Miller: Perl and Voice/XML
Last May Mark gave us a preview of his work utilizing Perl in the
development of Voice/XML applications. He just (today!) completed a book on
this subject due out soon. On March 19, Mark will be presenting an
application that allows people to record sound files from the telephone
directly to their website. This is usable to create voice messaging services
that are accessible from any computer with internet access or through a
      telephone.

Dan Sugalski: The Parrot Project and the Development of Perl 6
If you've been following discussion of Perl 6, you'll recognize Dan's name
in connection with the Perl 6 internals and the Parrot interpreter project.
Dan will give a presentation on what it means to re-write a language's
internals and why a cross-language interpreter for lightweight languages is
      possible and desirable.
