      There is not that much to it. The full document is included with the Perl
      distribution. Use the command:
      perldoc perldebug

      Run your program with the debugger, then simply experiment with the basic
      commands:
      x $myvar -- prints the contents of $myvar
      x @mylist -- prints the contents of @mylist

      s -- step to the next code line and INTO a subroutine if that is the next
      line
      n -- step to the next code line (goes over subroutines)
      <CR> -- repeat the previous "s" or "n" command

      l -- list the next several lines of code

      b {line} -- set a breakpoint at the specified line number
      D -- delete all breakpoints
      c [line] -- continue to the end or the next breakpoint or to the specified
      line number

      q -- quit
      h -- help

      Since you are asking, you no doubt have seen there is quite a bit more.
      Don't worry about the rest for now. Get comfortable with these, THEN get
      deeper into the debugger.

      No idea about a pretty GUI debugger. There probably is, if you are willing
      to pay for it.
