      perlvar: the section of interest to the OP.
      from the command line:
      $ perldoc perl
      will provide an overview of the 'docs

      grep: for the meter; perl -e print if /\$@/ is
      a pure Perl equivalen.t (Assumes one has
      done something such as : $ perldoc perlvar | col -b > perlvarman.txt

      lynx: the text browser
      perlorg : perldoc.perl.org (assumes one is 'Net connected)

      there's also the Camel, pasting printouts on the
      bathroom wall...
