      I have a date from the form in format: 2003-04-03, (yyyy-mm-dd).

      $date = $field{'date'} ;

      but once after input I want to format it through script as:

      Apr-04-03 (Name of Month - day remains same - Year in two digits)

      Is it possible?

      Thanks,

      Zeshan.

        ... Should this be: Apr-03-03 To be clearer: I believe you want to change 2003-11-18 to Nov-18- 03 This untested regular expression might work: my @Months

          Should this be: Apr-03-03
          To be clearer: I believe you want to change '2003-11-18' to 'Nov-18-
          03'

          This untested regular expression might work:
          my @Months = qw( Jan Feb Mar Apr etc );
          $date ~= s/^\d{2}(\d{2})-(\d{2})-(\d{2})$/$Months[$2]-$3-$1/e;
