Glad there are others out there completely new to Perl. I'm not only
lacking in programming skill, but lacking knowledge altogether! I'm also
trying to learn Perl on Linux (Mandrake 7.2). I haven't been on this
list long, but everyone seems real helpful and knowledgeable.
I don't know about you, but I am starting as slow as possible with
"Sams teach yourself perl 5 in 21 days". So far so good, although its
early going for me (and I'm fitting this into a Masters, a full time job
and wife and two boys, so its more like 21 weeks). You can get this free
online @ www.informit.com. From there I plan to tackle the Llama book
from O'Reilly (Learning Perl).
