On Sunday we turned our calendars, and the Primary Election is right around the corner!

The Republican Women have done and continue to do our best to educate Republican voters on the candidates, but we still have more work to do.

On April 12, we will have our last meeting before the election.

We will meet at Hoss’s in Altoona for dinner at 5:30.   Our special guest speaker is John McGinnis, who is running against Rick Geist for the Republican nomination for the 79th state house district.  Mr. Geist declined our invitation to attend on April 12, and has not responded to other phone call / email requests regarding other possible dates that we could accommodate him.  We will only be able to seat 50 people  at Hoss’s on the 12th, so if you plan on coming you must r.s.v.p. asap!

I am also in the process of inviting the candidates for delegate and alternate delegates to the RNC convention from the 9th congressional district.   The list of candidates is on our web site.

There will be a campaign rally for John McGinnis on Tuesday evening at 6:00 at the Bavarian Hall.  If you would like to attend you may purchase your $10 ticket at the door.  Refreshments will be served, and John Kennedy, one of the original reformers from the state legislature, will be attending.  Mr. Kennedy founded the Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania (CAP.)  CAP helps recruit candidates for the state legislature who back critically needed reforms in Pennsylvania, and backed John Eichelberger in his now famous race against Senator Pro Tem Bob Jubelirer.

April 17 is the annual Tax Day Tea Party rally sponsored by Blair County Tea Party.  It starts at 5:00 at the Canal Basin Park in Hollidaysburg.  All the U.S. Senate candidates and state representative candidates in the 79th district have been invited to speak.  So far John McGinnis. And U.S. Senate candidates David Christian and Marc Scarinigi have accepted our invitations.

All our candidates need help getting the vote out on April 24.  If you would like to help in your neighborhood between now and election day, please let me know!

Also, the Blair County Republican committee spring dinner will be on Thursday April 19 at the Casino.  I hope you will attend!  I would like to purchase 2 tables for the Blair County Republican Women.  Tickets are $40 each.  Please let me know if you (your spouse is also welcome to sit with us!) would like to sit with the Republican Women on the 19th.  There are no speakers confirmed yet for the event.  There will be an additional reception available for an additional $85 before dinner.

Please remember to let me know if you will attend our dinner with John McGinnis and the delegates on April 12!
