Group Description

We are an international friendly community of runners, walkers, and other fitness activity participants supporting each other in improving our personal fitness levels.

Runners and walkers of all speeds are welcome, as well as those who participate in other fitness activities, although this group is most suited to those with six months or more training experience. (The Courage to Start list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/courage-to-start/ is a great list for those runners and walkers just starting out.)

Please note the following guidelines of the Penguin Athletes list:

* Members should observe basic principles of netiquette.

* We attempt to stay more or less "on topic" by including notes such as ORNs (Obligatory Running Notes) or OWNs (Obligatory Walking Notes) in the majority of posts.

* If you would like to send short personal messages to members of the group, please combine several and post them to the list in a single Group Post (GP).

* Quote only the part of the message to which you are replying and delete the rest. This makes it easier for digest subscribers to read the digests.

* Off-topic posts should include the notation NRC (no running content) in the subject header, but if you can wait, reserve off-topic posts and jokes for sending on Fridays.

* Please be advised that we don't permit commercial advertising or flaming. Nor do we permit political or religious discussions. Please take heated differences of opinion off-list.
