fancy-shmancy PC too but never use it except for running Palm simulators.
When my son visited and didn't have his laptop, he used my PC for creating
PowerPoint stuff. Otherwise it just sits.
All my Macs lasted very long. Most were actively used for over 10 years. My
primary Mac is a 4.5 year old Titanium PowerBook which I use as a desktop
with a 23" screen. I have not made the transition to the intel Macs yet and
probably won't for many years. My favorite Mac program is MYM which is 15+
years old and runs only on ancient OSs [callled classic]. The new Macs
can't run classic.
I had my first Mac in 4/1984. I started using unix in 1985. BTW, for me
unix and linux mean the same thing.
I have nothing personal against Windows. I just like Macs.
P.S. I just replaced the hard disk of my Mac laptop and it runs very fast
now. A 100Gb Momentus, 7200 RPM. It was only about $120 with the fantastic

to your local library. That's where my FX and ImageWriter went years ago.
