Acclaimed director Andrea Frye joins forces with choreographer Padtro
Harris, set designer Rochelle Barker, costume designer Susan E. Mickey
and lighting designer M.L. Geiger to bring a powerful, luminous
production of Ntozake Shange's "for colored girls who have considered
suicide when the rainbow is enuf" to Portland Center Stage. The
all-Equity cast of seven black and hispanic women features Portland
actors Quigley Provost-Landrum and Ithica Tell, as well as Olivia D.
Dawson, Crystal Fox, Karan Kendrick, Brenda Porter and Nancy Rodriguez.
Infused with music and dance, "for colored girls..." celebrates the
poetry of the streets and jazz, latin and r&b music of the 60s and 70s.

A press release with full details is attached. Rehearsal photos by Owen
Carey will be available Thursday, February 7.
