Hello! My name is Mike "Merkidemis" Isaacson, and I am hoping to help
out with PCGen. I've been an avid gamer for over 15 years, and a
computer nerd for even longer. I do automated testing as my day job,
and have written a few Android applications, namely Red Torrent,
Chronos, GameClock, and W! Widget, along with several unpublished toys
for myself. I even started work on a D&D character management tool for
Android. I've used PCGen on and off for years though honestly less
often then I probably should have been. :)

I mostly play D&D as a player, though I am currently leading a few
groups through playtests of D&D Next and have ran a few campaigns in
      the
past. Currently, my group is playing Pathfinder, though we did do 3.5
and 4th over the past 4 years of playing together.

As stated above, I work as an automated test specialist for an
insurance company. I develop tests, in Java, to validate our websites,
web services, and databases. I have some non-professional experience
working with testing on Android as well for my own apps with the built
in JUnit tests and Robotium. I've been doing automated testing for 7
years, and have been programming for close to 20. Ah, the good old
      BASIC days.

Other random interests I have are woodworking, auto repair, camping,
and I am attempting to do some writing.

So, I know from the email lists that there is some interest in getting
an Android port going, if it isn't already, and I'd love to be involved
in that. Of course, if there is other core work to be done I'll gladly
help out with that too. Gotta try and get those open bugs closed!

Let me know how I can help!

Hi Mike, Welcome aboard. To get you heading in the right direction, I d recommend you check out the WIKI (wiki.pcgen.org) specifically the Code Team sections.

        Hi Mike,

Welcome aboard.  To get you heading in the right direction, I'd recommend you check out the WIKI (wiki.pcgen.org) specifically the Code Team sections. Once you get comfortable with that information you can find things to help with on our JIRA (jira.pcgen.org). If you want to assist with the apps, Devon Jones is working the current Apps guy, so you might want to hit him up. If you'll be working directly in the Code, then you'll need to submit a patch to James for review before he'll get you access to the code base in the SVN. If there is something that you want to dive into first, let us know. Otherwise, take a look around.

        Cheers,

But yes we are glad to have you!
