      [21:04] * Now talking in #pcgen
      [21:04] * Topic is 'PCGen - ENnie 2005 Best Electronic Product gold winner -
      http://pcgen.sourceforge.net'
      [21:04] * Set by [CM]Zaister on Thu Jun 15 18:02:06
      [21:05] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> sorry i'm late
      [21:05] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> was having IRC connection problems
      [21:05] <[Content_SB]Frank> Hi Paul
      [21:05] <[OGL]PaulG> Yea I went through 3 servers trying to get connected
      [21:05] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> same here, glad I tried to connect at 8:30
      [21:06] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> it was the 6th one that let me in
      [21:06] <[Content_SB]Frank> I'm still having problems with getting dropped
      from dalnet from time to time.
      [21:07] <[Content_SB]Frank> Yeah. The first I tried replied it was full, the
      2nd didn't reply, but the 3rd worked for me. :)
      [21:07] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i know James said that he may be able to
      lurk...but i can't recall if Devon ever said he could make it or not
      [21:08] <[Content_SB]Frank> I've only seen the post were he suggested to
      negotiate a new time, but that didn't say whether he would show up.
      [21:10] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> that's all i can recall...just wanted to make sure
      [21:10] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so, Data, are you ready for 5.10.1?
      [21:11] <[Content_SB]Frank> I think I stated that already on the list. I am
      currently not aware of anything from Content that isn't finished.
      [21:11] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> that's what i thought, but wanted to make sure
      [21:11] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> does anyone recall Code's position>?
      [21:12] <[Content_SB]Frank> Cool. What are anybody's thoughts on releasing
      without another RC?
      [21:12] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i can't recall any earth-shattering bugs since RC3
      came out
      [21:13] <[OGL]PaulG> Well we need to get it out for GenCon
      [21:13] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> I been using it with no problems
      [21:13] <[Content_SB]Frank> I'm with you all, just wanted to hear some other
      thoughts. :)
      [21:14] <[OGL]PaulG> Anything from CMP's side?
      [21:15] <[Content_SB]Frank> If so, they must have contacted Devon or Kar. I
      didn't hear anything from them.
      [21:15] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i haven't heard anything more than what Kar said a
      couple weeks ago that the Mynex and Barak would discuss
      [21:15] <[OGL]PaulG> Well since nobody has posted anything to the bod list
      on it I'd say it's a go
      [21:16] <[OGL]PaulG> And on the plus side my 19th level pally is working
      with the preview screen again.
      [21:16] <[OGL]PaulG> It quit working somewhere around 594 :)
      [21:17] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> what didn't work?
      [21:19] <[Content_SB]Frank> About Code, this was in James post on Sunday:The
      source customiser fix has been committed to the prod branch, the new
      [21:19] <[Content_SB]Frank> autobuild has been produced with the fix in it
      [21:19] <[Content_SB]Frank> http://pcgen.sourceforge.net/07_autobuilds.php
      and I have created a set
      [21:19] <[Content_SB]Frank> of release notes for the 5.10.1 release. Code is
      ready to go! :)
      [21:19] <[Content_SB]Frank> So it looks like Code is ready, too
      [21:20] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> cool
      [21:20] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> just then need to get with Eric
      [21:20] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> should hope so, Eric had the go last weekend,
      just not the time
      [21:20] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i know he mentioned a possible mid-week release
      [21:22] <[Content_SB]Frank> Maybe he is waiting for a definite decision
      whether to release without another RC.
      [21:23] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> well, once this meeting is over, i'll make the
      comment on the BoD group
      [21:23] <[Content_SB]Frank> Thanx. :)
      [21:25] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so Frank, got any wishes for the 5.11 series? :)
      [21:25] * [OGL]PaulG has quit IRC (Read error: Operation timed out)
      [21:26] <[Content_SB]Frank> Err, I can have wishes? :)
      [21:26] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> everyone can have wishes...its making them reality
      that's the tough part
      [21:26] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> :D
      [21:26] <[Content_SB]Frank> doh!
      [21:27] <[Content_SB]Frank> BTW that freakin' heat is making me dizzy.
      [21:29] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> Europe having a heat wave?
      [21:29] <[Content_SB]Frank> Here in Germany it's the hottest summer since
      1993
      [21:29] * Nylan8 has joined #pcgen
      [21:30] <Nylan8> nick [OGL]PaulG
      [21:30] <[Content_SB]Frank> And if it keeps at that, it will top that.
      [21:30] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> yeah, its been pretty hot here
      [21:30] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> funny, '93 is when we had that bizzard in march
      [21:30] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> temps in the low 90's, which is pretty warm for
      the Erie area of PA
      [21:31] <[Content_SB]Frank> Winter wouldn't go until May and now this.
      [21:32] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so, do we have any datasets that folks are
      srambling for? other than the closed stuff we can't provide that is
      [21:33] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> don't know about scrambling but Spycraft 2 is
      coming along nicely :)
      [21:33] <[Content_SB]Frank> Terry Fitzsimmons should be working on d20
      Weapons Locker
      [21:34] <[Content_SB]Frank> Andrew Maitland wanted to pick up the Green
      Ronin Advanced Player thingie
      [21:34] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i just got the PDF of Blue Devil Games' Helios
      Rising
      [21:35] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> it loos really cool
      [21:35] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> granted, i'd need to approach them to see if we
      can get permission :)
      [21:35] <[Content_SB]Frank> :)
      [21:36] <[Content_SB]Frank> I was going to check how True20 could be coded,
      but the heatwave and now the reviews have been holding me up.
      [21:37] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> reviews?
      [21:37] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> just out of curiousity, barring present company
      and Tir, how many active data monkeys are there?
      [21:38] <[Content_SB]Frank> define active.
      [21:38] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> touche
      [21:38] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> umm...how about how many are active by *your*
      definition :D
      [21:39] <[Content_SB]Frank> Hehe. I'll get you for that, K-man
      [21:39] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> well, seeing that you across the pond and then
      some, i'm not to worried ;P
      [21:41] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> how about this definition: those who are as active
      as i am?
      [21:41] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i know i try to throw a new dataset in every
      couple months as time permits...some are small, true
      [21:41] <[Content_SB]Frank> I'd say there are currently 10-12 that can be
      seen as active in some sort
      [21:42] <[Content_SB]Frank> but that is a somewhat wide range I'm using
      there
      [21:44] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> fair enough
      [21:44] <[Content_SB]Frank> Regular stuff is coming from Eddy, Tir, Paul K.,
      Me, and Aaron (when he finds the time)
      [21:44] <[Content_SB]Frank> Terry Fitzsimmon and Andrew Maitland are new and
      I'm still waiting to see what they come up with.
      [21:45] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> back to Spycraft 2, how close is that to
      completion Eddy?
      [21:45] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> just curious, not pushing
      [21:45] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> no prob
      [21:45] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> it's going well considering I've been working on
      it for 18 months ;-)
      [21:45] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> lol..fair enough
      [21:46] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> I've got it to where you can build complete
      characters... minus any equipment
      [21:46] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> how's your wife doing? how soon until the
      pitter-patter of little feet?
      [21:46] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> she's doing good too
      [21:46] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> Sept 24 is the date
      [21:46] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> i pre-emptively demand pictures! :D
      [21:46] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> He's a bot and we're naming him Conor Issak
      Anthony
      [21:47] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> er.. boy I mean
      [21:47] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> a bot is he...already to doing cybernetic
      enhancements are we?
      [21:47] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> I knew that was coming :p
      [21:47] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> lol
      [21:48] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so, any other issues out there?
      [21:48] <[Content_SB]Frank> You're giving your son the initials CIA?
      [21:48] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> *snort* missed that one
      [21:48] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> the question you should have asked is do his
      initials have anything to do with coding Spycraft?
      [21:48] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> no, it's a coinsidence
      [21:48] <[Content_SB]Frank> ;)
      [21:49] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> yup, we have a sense of humor :-)
      [21:49] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> almost as cool as my sisters...AKA
      [21:51] * Nylan8 is now known as [OGL]PaulG
      [21:51] <[Content_SB]Frank> Ah, it's a tradition then.
      [21:52] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> heh, when my dad was in high school, they did last
      name first name middle initial....no punctuation
      [21:52] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so he was
      [21:52] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> King John V
      [21:52] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> not really, I'm breaking tradition which has
      been to pass on my first as the childs middle name
      [21:52] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> his brother was
      [21:52] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> King Earle C
      [21:52] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> thus I got stuck with Edward Bolton Anthony
      [21:53] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> the Issak is for Asimov
      [21:53] <[DataSecond]MoSaT> the Conor is cause we like it :-)
      [21:56] * AlphaSEQ has joined #pcgen
      [21:59] * [OGL]PaulG has quit IRC (Read error: Operation timed out)
      [21:59] <[Content_SB]Frank> And I thought I had problems with Dalnet.
      [22:00] <[PR_SB]kingpaul> so, anything else for the good of the order?

        "Untapped Potential: New Horizons in Psionics" is a new sourcebook of over
        100 pages in new content, fully compatible with the D20 3.5 version of
        psionics.

        Around the release of the Complete Psionic sourcebook, the authors of
        Untapped Potential all approached each other about creating a sourcebook
        of new material that expanded areas of psionics that Complete Psionic did
        not. A print version is also being looked into and will depend on the
        success of the PDF-only version.

        My Paraphrased Q&A (The original here:
        http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=9671404&postcount=274 )
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        Rageheart (Me): With UT being OGC would it be alright to code into PCGen's
        standard Lists?
        Tempest Stormwind: I don't use PCGen in general anymore, but it's Open
        Game. Who are we to stop you?
        Do note, however, that the mechanical material WILL be expanded for the
        print version. In what ways, we can't be certain of (for instance, until I
        was revising the cerebral stalker into the voleur, we had never considered
        the thing being a playable race, but after reading it, it looked so damn
        cool that I'm tempted to cook up a lower ECL version of it for PC use.)
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

        is this good enough for permission or do we need to go through PCGen
        channels?

            I've actually never heard of the source or the company. The first step
            would be to contact them to see if we have their permission to create
            datasets based upon their material. If we receive the permission, then
            we can begin doing the dataset.

                  Nope. Basically, we need specific permission for the use of PI - the
                  name of the set. We could use OGC so long as we didn't call the set
                  the same as their book, or use any PI. We make it a point to go
                  overboard on our relations with publishers.

                  At this point it is best left to the PL team. Paul K?
