For all intents and purposes the concept works on PCGen, but if you add a new familiar to an experienced spell caster it becomes difficult to add skill ranks.

For all intents and purposes the concept works on PCGen, but if you add
a new familiar to an experienced spell caster it becomes difficult to
add skill ranks. This ties in to the Survival subset discussion, but is
there a way to differentiate between the MASTER'S skill ranks and the
Familiar's skill ranks? As it currently stands PCGen shows any familiars
as having a large negative number for skill points based on the master
ranks which have been auto-assigned, and won't allow you to assign the
      familiars own skills.

      Any work around or solutions?

      Thanks,
      Andrew Maitland

... First create the familiar as a character, assigning the proper skill points. *Then* add the familiar to the spellcaster. Cheers, Sir George Anonymous

First create the familiar as a character, assigning the proper skill
points. *Then* add the familiar to the spellcaster.
