      I think this to be the only workable (my $.02) solution. If the skills must

      My characters (even fighters) did not routinely "equip" horses, even the
      ones that were expert riders. It is almost impossible to maintain a mount
      while dungeon crawling. So I just purchased and sold them as needed. This
      was of course not an ideal situation, as the quality and availability of a
      decent mount was questionable at best. Also when I used "security
      specialists" I usually did not carry a "lock pick kit" as such things are
      considered questionable at best when confronted by local constable and such.
      I would instead usually purchase them as I needed them from some town close
      to our destination. Or whatever.

      I second this and add my own $US0.02.

      Show the default skill (rank+stat) and then the "as-equipped" skill
      with the masterwork/missing/magical items.

      That will let people recalculate it on the fly and indicate what the
      character's equipment reflects.

        This is easy to implement so I think you will see this in the future.

        In the mean time:
        The penalty to the Ride skill riding bareback or riding a creature that is
        ill suited as a mount is now implemented as a Temporary Bonus which can be
        applied in the Temporary Bonus Tab. You should note that if both situations
        apply to your PC (say you are riding a troll with no saddle) then it is
        possible to apply the temp bonus twice. See the docs for instructions on how
        to apply temporary bonuses.
