Hello. Having just found PCGen, I am impressed. A Java proggie that
plays relatively nicely with the OS....Excellent.
I was however creating a most glorious half-dragon/Human fighter who
specializes in the Bastard Sword - the bug manifests-
      Weapon Focus - Sword (Bastard/2H)
      Weapon Finesse - Sword (Bastard/2H)
      Weapon Specialization - Sword (Bastard/2H)
I also noted the bonus feat of Martial Weapon Proficiency uses the
      same "Sword (Bastard/2H)"
COOL.. I now have a flying freak who can probably whack a tarrasques
with a Bastard sword.. on to equipment... let's buy that sword----
Equipment -> Weapons -> Melee -> Sword (Bastard) It's RED! Ach! It
says PROFICIENT=N!!! But I'm Specialized... hmm.. the Two Handed
sword says the same! Hmm... looks like the porficiency/feats don't
Jive with the equipment for the weapons in question... So my question
any docs for writing .lst files so I can fix this and maybe even
write a Sword&Sorc Creature collection .lst?

Duh.. I'll go RTFM.. sorry... that was silly...
I should know better....BTW I think there might be a memory leak, but
am still examining the effects. I t may have just been loading too
many sourcebooks at once.... hmmm... I'll let you know if I find
anything.. I'll even try and track it down to the source before I
        report it....
docs... when all else fails- RTFM.. duh...

As far as the memory leak thing goes, have you tried minimizing and maximizing the PCGen window? I find that this flushes the java memory cache, and gets it

I find that this flushes the java memory cache, and gets it down to a
svelt 650K minimized... until you start using pcgen again, and then
the memory creaps right back up (I've seen java use up to 38MB of
memory by just rapidly moving the cursor over every piece of the
window, causing the tooltips to popup... 38MB before the sources are
            loaded!).

At least, this works for me on Win200Pro with Java 1.4.0. YMMV

I was going to write up a bug about it too, until I noticed this
simple, if quirky and nonstandard, fix.
