***** At this early stage, many players listed as FAs could, of course,
be re-signed by their current teams. But here's a list of players
currently in FA status that I'd welcome to our team. These are my top 5
at each of what I view as positions of significant need. Obviously, I
have no idea about the $$$ they might be demanding. This is based
solely upon what I've seen of their play. And I haven't considered any
      of our own FAs here.

      ILBs:
      Yr
Jeremiah Trotter UFA 7 6-1/262 Philadelphia
Edgerton Hartwell UFA 4 6-1/250 Baltimore
Rob Morris UFA 5 6-2/240 Indianapolis
Rocky Calmus RFA 3 6-3/240 Tennessee
Zeke Moreno UFA 4 6-2/246 San Diego

      CBs:
Andre Dyson UFA 4 5-10/187 Tennessee
Ken Lucas UFA 4 6-0/203 Seattle
Anthony Henry UFA 4 6-1/205 Cleveland
Gary Baxter UFA 4 6-2/204 Baltimore
Aaron Beasley UFA 9 6-0/205 Atlanta

      OTs:
Jonas Jennings UFA 4 6-3/320 Buffalo
Stockar McDougle UFA 5 6-6/367 Detroit
Kareem McKenzie UFA 4 6-6/327 NY Jets
Victor Riley UFA 7 6-5/328 New Orleans
Floyd Womack UFA 4 6-4/330 Seattle

      OGs:
Cosey Coleman UFA 5 6-4/322 Tampa Bay
Rick DeMulling UFA 4 6-4/305 Indianapolis
Bennie Anderson UFA 4 6-5/345 Baltimore
Roberto Garza UFA 4 6-2/303 Atlanta
Bob Hallen UFA 7 6-4/305 San Diego

      WRs:
Jerry Porter UFA 5 6-2/220 Oakland
Plaxico Burress UFA 5 6-5/223 Pittsburgh
Corey Bradford UFA 7 6-1/195 Houston
      T.J. Houshmandzadeh UFA 4 6-1/197 Cincinnati
Charles Lee UFA 4 6-1/205 Tampa Bay
Alex Bannister UFA 4 6-5/201 Seattle (Hon Ment. for STs play!)

***** That's my "Free Agent Board", as of now. I must add, however,
that there are more guys yet to be released who could bump some of
these. Most notably a couple of guys from Tennessee - CB Samari Rolle
and WR Derick Mason. I'd really like to get Mason. He's great both at
WR and in the return game.

***** Now that the dust has settled on the first round of releases and tender offers, I've got a few updates to my FA Wish List. Same caveat on the $$$ issue. I am ignoring whether or not they are expected to be out of our price range. And, for purposes of this list, I'm assuming that we keep our 4 tendered RFAs. The other assumptions are that none of Law, Troy, Phifer, or Tedy will return. That said, here are my top 5 at our positions of need.

        ILBs:
                                              Yr
Jeremiah Trotter      UFA   7    6-1/262 Philadelphia
Edgerton Hartwell    UFA   4    6-1/250 Baltimore
Antonio Pierce        UFA   4    6-1/232 Washington
Rob Morris             UFA   5    6-2/240 Indianapolis
Zeke Moreno          UFA   4    6-2/246 San Diego

        CBs:
Samari Rolle          UFA   7  6-0/175  Tennessee
Andre Dyson          UFA   4  5-10/187 Tennessee
Ken Lucas             UFA   4  6-0/203 Seattle
Fred Smoot            UFA   4  5-11/173  Washington
Anthony Henry       UFA    4 6-1/205 Cleveland
        OTs:
Jonas Jennings UFA 4 6-3/320 Buffalo
That's all folks! The problem is that there just aren't any proven LEFT tackles out there that are worth a damn. All the highly rated OTs play on the right side, and I'm happy with what we have there in Ashworth and Gorin.

        WRs:
Derrick Mason               UFA   8  5-10/188  Tennessee
Plaxico Burress             UFA   5  6-5/223    Pittsburgh
Joey Galloway               UFA   9  5-11/197  Tampa Bay
        T.J. Houshmandzadeh    UFA  4  6-1/197     Cincinnati
Corey Bradford              UFA   7  6-1/195     Houston
Alex Bannister              UFA   4  6-5/201     Seattle (Hon Ment. for STs play!)
        OGs:
Assuming that we retain both Neal and Andruzzi, I see no need to spend money on this position this year.

        TEs:
... Just checking to see if you were paying attention! ;-)

... I thought Trotter came with a big ? regarding his ability to drop back into coverage... He definitely seems to have the heart/soul quality for the Eagles

I thought Trotter came with a big ? regarding his ability to drop
back into coverage... He definitely seems to have the heart/soul
          quality for the Eagles though.

Character question here. Do you really think he's a good fit
          personality wise?

          > Andre Dyson UFA 4 5-10/187 Tennessee
          > Ken Lucas UFA 4 6-0/203 Seattle

Lucas is the guy I'd target but I would also admit I don't know as
much about him as I would like.

Just released Wahle of the Packers apparently played quite a bit at
left tackle for the Pack down the stretch and played well from what
I've read and will likely draw considerable interest from teams to
play LT. Also since tackles have a better shot at big $ it wouldn't
be a stretch to see him market himself this way.

          > WRs:

Love to see Mason in real blue.

I could see Allen Rossum taking Troy's spot returning punts, and in
            the nickle package.
