Let's look at the recent record.  Conventional wisdom has it that a draft pick in the following year is equivalent to being one round lower.  Last year D traded for Drew, giving up a #1 but in the following year.  Effectively a #2 for an 8 year starting QB with decent stats.

This year, D trades away his #2 receiver but gets a #1 pick and saves the opportunity cost of the cap space.  Not bad, eh?

Now BB was on the transmitting side of the QB trade, in effect getting a #2 for his previously starting QB.  This year he's about to trade his starting FS, possibly for a couple #3 picks, one coming a year later.

Donahue seems to be doing quite well.

      How well will BB do?

-p (better than the Jets' GM)
