      Some with short memories might want to remember what Woodhead did to the 49ers in that comeback!  BTW, Vereen cannot hold a candle to Woodheads blocking ability and Washington will only play KO and PR, not in the backfield.  He had 4 catches in 8 atempts last year.

      I thought we had Demps for KO returns!

      Would have loved to see Edelman back as WR/PR.

      Washington = overrated
      Woodhead = underrated and underappreciated

      Woodhead played on something like 47% of the plays.

      I never said he was Jim Thorpe ... just a player that gave it his all and produced nearly everytime he was put in a game, no matter when he was was inserted.  He was ready to do his job, and if we had had more guys like him, we would have been winning more Super Bowls.

      Ultimately this move may hurt the Patriots more than letting Welker walk!

      Washington returns kickoffs to the end zone.  Woodhead returns them to the 19.  We all loved Woodhead, but why any of you would want to play him ahead of Vereen on offense or ahead of Washington on kickoffs is beyond me.

      The Patriots played the 49'ers in December, some may recall.  The offense struggled for a time, and then burst wide open for a time.  The 49'ers defense played in the Super Bowl, you will recall.  Some of you may want to take the trouble to look up what Danny Amendola did against the 49'ers defense in 2012.

      The only thing getting consistently worse is the whining.

      Agreed. We're just getting worse with every signing. Welker for Amendola is a downgrade. Washington for Woodhead is a downgrade.  Donald Jones? If the Bills don't even want him at all, shouldn't that be a warning of some sort? And if that's in place of Edelman -- which you have to think it is -- I'd call that yet another downgrade. Hell, Arrington for just not having a slot cornerback is probably a downgrade. (OK, maybe I'm venting a bit with that last one.) Sanders for a third-round pick would probably be a downgrade.

      I'm just utterly baffled by what the hell is going on with this team. We weren't good enough to get to the Super Bowl, so getting worse doesn't seem like it's going to help.

      This is a huge mistake by the Patriots!  All Danny Woodhead did was go out and produce whenever he was called upon.  He did his job and made things happen.  He was an excellent special teams coverage guy.  He rushed for 300+ yards and caught 41 passes for another 400+.  His YPC on those 41 catches was higher than Aaron Hernandez.

      Good things happened when Danny Woodhead was on the field.  His veteran prescence was felt by all the young RBs on the team.  The one thing he didn't do well was return KO.  They signed Leon Washington to do that.  Shane Vereen can make up for the catches and rushes.  Who is going to play on all 4 ST coverage teams?  Washingto will be on KO and PR only.  Pehaps that why Arrington was signed at such a high number.
