Re: [patriotzip] Roster Battles
- Thanks for this analysis!I bet BB and staff are just rubbing their hands together with all of this talent. My son (one of their biggest fans...lol) mentioned that the Pats had lost their preseason games and I said that (most of the time) BB doesn't even care about victories. He's looking at what can be and might be and all of the scenarios for the coming year and doesn't really give a rat's behind about whether he wins or loses. To see all of this competition for spots on a championship team such as ours must just be overwhelmingly exciting!!GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!----- Original Message -----From: Mark MorseSent: Monday, August 27, 2012 6:57 PMSubject: [patriotzip] Roster BattlesI said it when the camp started and it has been reaffirmed with the announcement of the cuts to 75 today. This is the most competitive camp I have ever seen in the history of the Patriots. Here are the battles I see coming down to the wire for Fridays 53 man roster!S Ihedigbo vs Brown ... I give Ebner one of the S spots ... maybe both get cut and they keep extra CB's.LB White, Tarpinian Koutivedes ... only one makes it ... I have not been impressed with Tarpinian, but he is in on all 4 ST units and ST coach Scott OBrien loves him. White has been hurt but when healthy he is a stud on ST. Koutivedes could go back to the shadow roster.DT Francis, Forston, Harrison ... I like Francis as a pass rusher from DT positionDE Cunningham, Scott, Bequette ... Bequette seems like a one trick pony I'm going with ScottCB Cole vs Dennard ... see S comment Moore and McCourty can play S in a pinchWR Britt, Holley, Taylor, Ebert ... Holley is another ST demon (Stallworth and Gaffney don't play ST thats why they are gone). They claim Taylor and release Gaffney???? They think Taylor is better????OL McDonald, Thomas, Koppen ... I don't see Koppen making this team unless there is an injury Wed night. McDonald versatility will give him the edge.RB 5 RB's and no FB? Do they cut Woodhead since he doesn't play ST? Bolden has been very good on ST and could play the FB position. Kettani is the odd man out.TE Do they keep 4 TE's with Hernandez more of a flex receiver? Ballard to PUP not IR ... interesting move. Do they think he can come back after 8 weeks?Mark Morse

Kettani is the odd man out.<Scott S> Actually Woodhead was on the coverage teams last year running down and making tackles, plus he returned kickoffs despite never having done it before. So, he does play special teams. A number of people have mentioned Kettani as a possible fullback.
