Speaking of Al Davis, he died last night. Got traction for a SB with the Plunkett trade and traction for a rebuild out of the Seymour trade with the Pats.

As this list may recall, I said nice things in defense of Al Davis on Thursday last. With his death earlier today, the last game Davis ever saw in person

With his death earlier today, the last game Davis ever saw in person allowed him to watch Tom Brady channel his inner Darryle Lamonica.  Some of you may recall that Bill Belichick said Brady had just played his best game of the four to date this season.  WEEI laughed at this, but those of us who watched Lamonica open defenses up (before he was displaced by that game manager Stabler) understand Belichick to be sincere.

(Tonight on NFL N, the Raiders will beat Joe Theisman's team, 38-9.  Do any of you really have a greater distaste for the late Al Davis than for Theisman?  )
