I was at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference today.
The best panel of the day was one consisting of Mark Cuban,
Jonathan Kraft, Daryl Morey (Rockets GM), Bill Polian, Bill
Simmons, and Michael Lewis. (Sadly, Kraft was the worst
      of the bunch.)

The 4th-and-2 call came up, with Simmons saying he thought
it was a stupid move. Kraft said when it was 3rd-and-2
he thought it was gonna be 4-down territory and said it
      was the right call.

Surprisingly (?), Polian also said it was the right call.
He pointed out it was 4th-and-2, that Banta-Cain was injured,
that the starting corners were not playing due to earlier
injuries, that the Pats passrushers were gassed and that
it had become a passing game and the Colts were hot. He
said it was "100% the right call".

In other exchange he called the Pats "the team of the decade".

The most hilarious thing from the panel was:
"Maybe the most entertaining moment of the panel was when Kraft said that
he had worked with three coaches - Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll and Bill
Belichick - who have very different intellectual capabilities. Thinking
better of making such a statement publicly, Kraft appealed `Please don't
tweet that' to the audience, to an uproarious response, and Cuban pulled
out his Blackberry for a faux-tweet in jest."
