      The Globe's Chris Gasper reports...

"Today is Judgment Day in the NFL, as rosters must be trimmed to 53
players for the regular season. The Patriots got a jump-start
yesterday, releasing nose tackle Steve Fifita, offensive lineman Jimmy
Martin, tight end Jonathan Stupar, and cornerback Jeff Shoate to slim
      down to 71."

Also read this from the AP...

"The Houston Texans released veteran linebacker Rosevelt Colvin and 20
other players yesterday, the day before NFL teams must set their
      53-man rosters."

We seem to know when it's time to let players go.
