      Dear Readers,

      The 71st WINE HARVEST FESTIVAL IN MONTMARTRE,
      "Solidarity" vintage marks the arrival of the wines made from
      the vines of the Butte Montmartre. This famous celebration with
      two parades taking place on 9 October will bring together
      associations of wine-growers, folk groups, musicians and artistes
      in a festive setting. The first parade will start from the Montmartre
      vineyards around 11am, following the official Harvest ceremony.
      The traditional procession will set off at 3pm from the town hall
      in the 18th arrondissement and make its way to the gardens
      of the Sacré Coeur. This event promotes a spirit of solidarity,
      and the proceeds of the sale of bottles of Clos Montmartre wine
      and related products will go to charitable works in the 18th arrondissement.
      This year, the patron of the celebration is actor Fabrice Luccini.

      WHAT'S UP IN PARIS?
      =====================

      (1) PARIS PHOTOGRAPHY MONTH 2004
      "History and stories: from documentary to fiction"
      The exhibition centres on 3 periods: from 1839 to 1914,
      from 1910 to the 60s and fron the 60s to the present day.
      It also focuses on 3 threads of the same theme: "history",
      which draws up a kind of chronological list of the history
      of photography; "stories", which explores familiar or
      lesser-known regions and reveals new perspectives;
      "from documentary to fiction", which introduces a contemporary
      and interpretative vision, through poetry and fiction.
      This year, some major museums open their doors to
      photography: the Louvre, Pompidou Centre, Jeu de Paume,
      Musée Zadkine, Maison Victor Hugo... and "Paris Photography Month"
      joins with 2 other cities, Berlin and Vienna, to become the
      "European Photography Month". From 29/10/2004 to 29/11/2004.
